An early altered book when I was just exploring the medium using instructions from Laurie Goodson who wrote some of the early instruction booklets about altered books – this was done in 2003.
The folded result, rich in detail. Part of a project completed with expert guidance and book making instruction from Lynne Perrella at a workshop in Taos, NM. Our books all explored mask making in different cultures – I chose an African theme for mine to celebrate my homeplace, having been born in Johannesburg, South Africa.
