Needle felted and Clay Snail with nature props

The snail body is polymer clay painted and glazed.  The shell is needle felted wool with  stitched bead accents.  The leaves are wool felt with machine and hand stitched veins, shaped with liquid starch and wired.   The nut pods are found objects that have  been filled with a felt covered bead and stitched accents.

Wool and wire landscape

The foundation for the landscape was wet felted with wool roving.  The details of the burro, mountains, trees and scrubs were added by needle felting.  Wire was stitched into or affixed onto the wool.  This  scene was inspired by a recent trip to the  Red Rock Conservation Area where I encountered several burros  snacking on…

Hummingbird wool & wire sculpture

Hummingbird body is needle felted with wool roving.  Bird wings are wire sculpted and sealed with fantasy film and glaze. Beak is polymer clay with wire base.  Feet are wire wrapped and glazed with acrylic paint.  Flowers are shaped with yellow felt  and formed with liquid starch.  Stems and stamen are wired wrapped in floral tape…
