Do You Doodle? You Could Win $1,000

I’m attracted to all things eclectic: people, music, foods, and especially artistic expressions. I love art because it shows the humanity, the individuality, and the passion of an individual. It’s satisfying to look beyond what I see on the canvas, for example, and consider what inspired someone to use this color, to make that mark. We celebrate the fact that each artist has a unique style, and is not afraid to hide it.

One style of accessible art that more and more people are experimenting with is doodle art. Yes, we’ve all spent time doodling in our notebooks in school (and some of us, ahem, in corporate meetings). But with the evolution of doodle art and Zentangle® patterns, this style of drawing is finally getting the respect it deserves.

That’s why Cloth Paper Scissors is proud to announce the first Zen Doodle Drawing Competition.

Between now and July 17th, enter your best doodle art for your chance to win $1,000 and get published in the winter issue of Zen Doodle Workshop magazine. I can tell you from personal experience that it’s incredibly exciting to see your drawings in print (my work is featured in the summer issue). Although I can’t enter to win the big bucks since I’m an employee, you can! We’re looking for artful doodles that push the boundaries of the art form, and show an inspired use of technique.

Good luck!
