We always like to get feedback from our Cloth Paper Scissors readers and we are often amazed at how often teachers tell us they use Cloth Paper Scissors in their classrooms. Further, it's exciting how many young students are inspired to put their spin on a technique from an issue.
Recently Cathleen Bradley of "From Plastic Bag to Fused-Plastic Fabric" in the July/August 2011 issue of Cloth Paper Scissors shared some of her students "awesome shoe sculptures" with us and I wanted to share a sampling with you.

The shoes the students made were inspired by three different articles: "Shoes That Make a Statement" by Pattie Wilkinson, "Fabric, Paper Mache, and Stitch" by Gail Walker, and "Shoe Party," which was about an artists' outing to a Converse® store in Boston.
Cathleen said, "I am very proud of their crazy-cool work." And so are we!
Definitely "cool shoes"!
Thanks for sharing Cathleen.
