Artisan Search 2011 Finalists Are Announced!

We put the call out and you answered!

Every issue of Cloth Paper Scissors ® has amazing art submitted by our talented readers. This year we spread our net wider in search of the best mixed-media artists around. One winner will be chosen for each of the following five categories: Mixed-media Stitch, Art Journal and Book Making, Printmaking and Silk Screening, Mixed-media Jewelry, and Collage and Assemblage.

Today, I’m excited to announce the 25 finalists (five in each of the five categories) in the search for our top five Artisans. Each of the following artists will be required to ship their original art to the Cloth Paper Scissors offices by October 15, 2010 for their entry to be considered.

The winners of Artisan 2011 will be announced here on this blog, on October 22, 2010.

The entries we received was absolutely amazing and the judging was very difficult. We have an incredibly talented reader base and we hope you’ll all continue to enter our challenges and send us submissions.

Unfortunately, out of the over 500 entries we received, I can only announce 25 names. In no particular order, congratulations to the following 25 Artisan Finalists!

Another congrats to all of the finalists! I've found so much delight and inspiration as I've looked through the entries. Entering the Artisan Search was a great catalyst (read gentle kick in the pants) giving me the focus I needed to jump into a new venture with both feet.  Eagerly awaiting the final results in October!

Congratulations to the finalists. I wish that there were a link with their names so that we could go staight to their work. I just spent about 45 minutes trying to find the artists in the mixed media category, page by page!

I have been so impressed with the level of instruction and inspiration from all of the artists who contribute to Cloth, Paper, Sissors!  Now to add so many new, creative people to the circle is exactly right.  Welcome to the new 25, and a huge THANK YOU to the innovative team who dreamed this level of acknowledgement and sharing!

You have succeeded in building a bridge of inspiration and now innovation to include so many more voices.

Hello everyone and thanks for all of your feedback.

Unfortunately, at this time there is no quick way to link to each of the artists, and because some have usernames that are different from their actual names, it may be hard to locate them. However, rest assured that all of the finalists do indeed have their artwork in the gallery. AND we will be publishing all of the finalists and the five winning artisans in the Jan/Feb issue.

We are holding the final judging this week and all the art is in and BEAUTIFUL. Our guest judges are going to have a very difficult time!
