Hi friends, it’s Friday and it’s GORGEOUS here in Massachusetts. We’re a little afraid that we might get snow in August with the weather being so unseasonably warm right now, but you know what? I’ll take it. I’m feeling so moved by the weather that I’m thinking I need a desperate farmer’s market fix. Of course, they aren’t available until later in May so I’m just going to have to make some farmer’s market inspired art.
Here is a photo of a recently purchased artichoke. I bought it to work on some new food art for an upcoming show called Feed Me: the 7 x 7 Show to benefit Meals on Wheels.
Of course, I bought the artichoke and then ran out of time to actually make the art so I had to take a photo before it got too old. I actually love the photo, so I guess it all ended up ok after all.
So, why am I sharing a picture of an artichoke with you? Because, it’s yours! Copyright free. From me to you. What can you do with it? Sketch, draw, paint, PanPastels, finger paint, collage, encaustic, or assemblage—I want to see it! Take 5 minutes or 5 days and upload your artwork to our Photo Friday Gallery. (This choke on the right if from my last farmer’s market painting session.)
In the meantime, tell me what other kinds of pictures you’d like me to post on Photo Fridays! (I have a seriously cool beet picture…interested?) Do you like the idea of a photo inspiration for the weekend? Don’t leave me hanging…leave a comment and let me know!
Have a seriously creative weekend!
Cheers,
