Every issue of Cloth Paper Scissors has amazing art that is submitted by our talented readers. Once again, we're in search of the best mixed-media artists around, and this year we're going international!
So, get your muse in gear; set out your paints and mediums, sewing machines, fabric and scissors, bone folders and gel pens; and get creative. One winner will be chosen for each of the following five categories: Mixed-media Stitch, Art Journal and Bookmaking, Printmaking and Surface Design, Mixed-media Jewelry, and Collage and Assemblage.

Each of the five category winners will receive the title of Artisan 2012 and with that all the rights and privileges that accompany such a distinction, including: a feature in On Our Radar artist spotlight, recognition in all Cloth Paper Scissors social media outlets, and potential editorial opportunities for the 2012 calendar year.
To enter, simply create three different pieces of art for one of the five Artisan categories. Send us 1 full page photograph and 1-2 detail shots of each piece. To give your entry the best chance of being accurately evaluated, please make sure the photographs are well-lit, clear, and printed on photo-quality paper. Please label the back of each photo with: your full name, address, phone number, the Artisan category you are entering,you're your clothpaperscissors.com username.

We cannot accept emailed entries this year. However, if you have questions about the contest, please email artisans@clothpaperscissors.com with "Artisan Entry" in the subject line, or write to us at the address above.
We encourage you to also upload photos of your three pieces of art to the appropriate category in the Artisans 2012 gallery at clothpaperscissors.com. When uploading your art, we recommend using your "lastname, art title" when naming your piece. This will make it easier for community members to find your specific art, and to locate the art of finalists and Artisans.
All entries must be received by 5:00 P.M. EDT on August 29, 2011. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older and residents of the U.S. Interweave employees are not eligible to participate. You may enter more than one category, but only one submission per category will be accepted.
Twenty-five semifinalists (five in each of the five categories) will be selected by Cloth Paper Scissors® and Interweave staff , and announced on September 7, 2011, on Editor Jenn Mason's blog at clothpaperscissors.com. All 25 semifinalists will be contacted by email and required to ship their three original art pieces to the Cloth Paper Scissors offices by October 5. 2011. Artwork will be kept for up to one year, with all art returned to artists by November 2012.
The semifinalists' artwork will be judged by a special panel, and the Artisan 2012 winners will be announced October 14, 2011 on clothpaperscissors.com by Editor Jenn Mason on her blog.
