“Chariot”

“‘Chariot’ began with one of my Greek vase images, layered and manipulated in Photoshop. After my initial application of acrylic washes, I extended the 8 1/2″ x 11″ boundaries of the printable cotton with materials including joss paper, quilt fabric (the yellow summer squash at the top is my own design for Free Spirit), and a previously made tissue paper collage at the bottom. From there it was a matter of auditioning more collage papers and adding layers of paint and texture. Finally, I stitched beads onto several parts of the collage to add sparkle.”
