A rural/agriculture county that borders the Gulf of Mexico is where I live and work. My imagery comes from the world around me. A mild/semi tropical climate offers lush vegetation and waters that team with creatures.
This piece is constructed on a wood substrate that measures 15 x 23 x 1 1/2 inches. The sides, top and bottom are wraped with a continuation of the image.
Papers used for the prints in this piece are Archers print paper, news paper, vellum and rice paper. Wood cut relief and collagraph printing on a press with oil based inks were the printmaking methods primarily used. Other techniques and media used are texture rubbings, folded papers, acrylics and oil pastels. The entire piece is sealed with beeswax.
Close ups are of printed vellum wih oil pastels and collagraph leaf/folded papers.
