I live an apartment so I have a built in desk area in an alcove off of the kitchen. it is about 10 feet wide, 3 feet deep, and 10 feet tall not including the space where a chair might go. I place a chair in front of the "desk" to work. I have to remove the chair when i am finished because it is a hallway to a bedroom. It does have an overhead light and lots of natural light.
