Collage – HERE’S LOOKING AT YOU 052210 Jane E. Jones

HERE’S LOOKING AT YOU 052210 (22 x 15)

Acrylics, gouache, watercolor painted papers, a discarded watercolor painting, acrylic palette skins and crystalline papers.

This was an unsuccessful acrylic painting that I collaged over with painted papers, a discarded watercolor painting and crystalline papers.  I made the crystalline papers by using archival tissue paper which I brushed matte medium on both sides letting each side dry before applying matte medium onto the other side, when dry, I painted one side with acrylic paints.  I used a piece of my acrylic palette skin for a focal point.  This painting is mostly rectangle shapes with a few curvilinear shapes.  I was aware of different size shapes throughout the process.

  1. Dear Ms. 052210 jane e. jones,

Vibrant and classic!  I haven’t been successful at the abstracts I’ve tried so I admire those that are successful.  The photos are great on my machine, catching a lot of contrast and flow!

    Thank you,  Colorsplash, Sue

  3. The colors are great the shapes are interesting but the thing I really like is, that it gives me the feeling that the top is balancing on one thin pole. I want to reach into the abstract and help keep it from toppling. Uniting a viewer with a piece of art is not an easy thing to accomplish. Nicely done.
