Fly Away Baby is a mixed media stitched project incorporating machine stitching through book covers, over antique lace, through multiple layers of hand dyed fabrics as well as paper ephemera. Hand stitching including stitching with wire, stitching through antique buttons as well as stitching to secure various elements. This artwork includes many found objects including antique lace, vintage bingo cards, a portion from an antique poetry book, a piece of an old hinge, antique buttons, vintage cabinet photo card, old rusty wire, and an antique wooden hanger as well as the covers from several antique books.
