Fox Shamaness

Fox Shamaness comes from ancient Japanese lore.  It was believed that foxes were magical creatures that could transform themselves into humans, and play tricks.  I made the body out of wire and paper mache.  The face is a cabochon by Kristie Brigham.  I wove her dress using basketry and knotless netting techniques.  I used assorted threads and beargrass. The fox mask in her hand was made by Dana Swisher.
