Fraught With Danger

16 x 20 canvas.  Acrylic paint, dye ink, pva glue, collaged maps and newspaper.

This picture shows the backside of a female on a horse riding away.  There are faces throughout, are they memories? ghosts? Things to come, people she will meet?   Is the little creature ready to bite the heels of the horse?  As the ink, glue and paint dry, faces appear.  We often can make out visages in clouds, the bark of a tree, etc. This phenomenon is called pareidolia.  It fascinates me and allows the viewer to engage with the art and imagine their own story for the piece.  Have fun looking for all the faces.
