Torn Paper Paintings….my pieces are all created using many types of paper….from found, bought, handmade, rice paper, etc. I also include vintage & foreign language text as well as old music pages. Any papers that are painted are done in advance of the creation of the piece. Once the piece has been started, there is no paint added directly to it….I use only the papers, as they are or pre-painted. The paper is mainly "torn" and the adhesive I use is a matte acrylic gel medium. These pieces were done on a base of 200lb watercolor paper. Currently I have been creating them directly onto stretched canvas.
