Heather Pyle, Ophelia Cuff

This is an elegant art cuff I created inspired by the painting- "Ophelia" by Redon. She is a tragic character created by Shakespeare who drowned in a pond at a very young age.

I hand felted the portrait using seveal colors of wool roving and then wet felted it to shrink down the size.  It is free motion stitched to a frayed piece of denim then beaded with my own polymer clay beads, some antique brass beads, glass leaf, tube and seed beads.  I then lined it with a free-motion quilted piece and added the lovely victorian lace I stained with coffee. The closures are magnetic buttons so it is very easy to take on and off covered with yo yo flowers that match the lining.
