Inside the box: Poppies

I like to make assemblages inside inexpensive 5 x 7 x1 inch plastic photo frames,by removing the cardboard insert that holds a photo against the front and replacing it with my own cardboard and images/stuff.  The box, with its small size and depth focuses attention and allows me to investigate aspects I would not ordinarily appreciate.  In the case of the poppy, I, like most people, normally think only of the lovely papery petals.  For that reason, I've focused on everything else about the poppy:  foliage, seed pod.  These are present in their actual form and in my mixed medium interpretations.  I have removed the plastic frame in order to photograph the assembly without glare.
