I began with a self-portrait drawing and traced it onto fabric. I used water colour pencils to add colour. Yellow fabric and brown suede to represent blonde hair. I then decided to mute those colours with a gold organza overlay. The face was lightly padded with felt to add dimension. Embroidery, beads, buttons, suede, tulle and lace were added. A special button to represent my little dog, (my bestfriend), and a beaded tear to represent the sadness that has overshadowed my life…

Your work is beautiful and what you did in adding and sharing the special touches to your Art piece is beautiful in thought.
Beautifully done!
Your portrait is beautiful, of course, and I love the variety of mediums you used, makes me wish I could see the original.
This is beautiful. I love the complexity of this and and I can, indeed, sense the sadness in the eyes. But I can see the hope in the rosyness of your cheeks. I love this piece.
Wow- your details are amazing!
