"BELIEVE" By Tracy Zimmermann Szanto

This silhouette was created from picture of my friends Justin and Patrice hiking the Appalachian Trail.  Before leaving on their dream adventure they were given a rock by a special friend.  The rock was clear and had a cross and the word "Believe" on it.  Patrice carried the rock in her pocket from Maine to Georgia as a reminder that God was with them every step of the way, 2181 miles, 14states, 141 days and they made it!!!  It goes to show if you "Believe" your dreams can come true.

I created this piece by painting muslin with fabric and acrylic paints, layering 5 colors of tulle (netting) for a shadowing affect, and machine quilting for depth.

  2. Tracy,

You’ve outdone yourself this time. Not only is the quilt a masterpiece, it’s an enduring testament to the will and stamina of an amazing couple, my son and daughter-in-law.  You are a creative genius and I stand in awe of you.

    With gratitude and admiration,
