Buttons and Biographies

Mark Twain said, "Biographies are but clothes and buttons of the man.  The biography of the man himself cannot be written."   I love this quote because it refers to the allusive quality of who we really are.

I used an old weathered book cover as the base for this piece and attached everything with mat medium adn weld bond.

The piece has a worn and rustic look which suits the quote and reminds me of the ephemeral nature of our outer selves.
