Couchette of Roses

I just love creating my own textile designs and prints. I painted this and then a chair to go with it on heavy cardstock…using paint pens and pen and ink. The lace was done using pastel chalks and soft watercolor pencil after the paint and ink has dried. I usually do the outline of the lace first with white ink and then the chalks and pencil over top. Then I rub over the top of the chalk and pencil fairly hard with paper towel to get the shear affect.

The pillow was done sperately, then I cut it out and placed it . This particular pillow I did has been used in some of my other art pieces as well. The wall paper is vintage clip art and digital paint.

I have thought about adding more pillows and such, but thought the fabric print is bright and engaging in itself that only a pillow and lace piece was necessary.
