Jamie’s Flower

I carved this image into soft rubber using linoleum cutting tools.  It is 4 3/4" square.  There are two separate blocks; one for each color.  My daughter, Jamie, carved a block of the flower image a few years ago, and I recently came upon it in the bottom of a old box. (She is away at college)  It was a 6" square, in a single color.  I recently used her rubber flower block in a deconstructive screenprint where I added drawn elements around two sides of her flower block.  I liked the way that her flower and my border looked together in the screenprint, so have tried to capture some of the same look here in this 2 color carving.  Won't she be surprised when she see's her old carving  reappear. (She is getting the screenprint image as a gift this Christmas!)
