This book started out as a standard size blank sketch book. I "gutted" it, and cut down the cover and blank pages to the prescribed size. The covers are created by using recycled beer cans that I drilled and riveted to the existing cover. I then applied gel transfer images of the leaves to the cans, further "distressing" them with an acrylic wash. The pages of the book have also been altered…some tattered…some with windows cut into them….others have pockets applied. I created a "hidden space" using the inside back cover. The pages were then also distressed using the same acrylic wash I used on the cover. After all of this, the pages wouldn't fit back into the covers, so I had to "float" this package inside the covers. All and all I like the dimensionality of this book and look forward to filling it with wonderful things!
