I loved the chunky quality of this 6 x 6 canvas, so I cut a hole in it to reveal a shadowbox window on a tiny pastoral scene. The sun is so all-embracing, it joins us on the INSIDE of the window. Thin jewelry wire form the suns rays, with tiny beads that slide back and forth like drops of sunshine when the piece is held. Other media used include paint, ink, metal embellishments, polymer clay, fiber, fabric, paper, and sandpaper.

Way cool! Love the shadowbox concept–what a great idea!
Wow! What a glorious idea! Love the sun… love that you cut into a canvas to use it for another purpose… Gad I wish I’d thought of it… 🙂
