Truly "wild" wire was used in most of this Wire Assemblage. The dancing wire squares were "wild" from a gutter in Paris (this summer). The copper wire frame was wild…in black casing.. on a street in Austin. I stripped the black off and "voila". Wild chicken wire from a building site made the perfect "square dancing" center. Previously tamed red wire added the final "dancing square- in-a- square. Antique spools wrapped in red wire on a collaged base sitting on painted squares provide the dance floor.
Loved the challenge of using treasures from walks to participate in this art opportunity!!!
Like the theme juxtapositioning Paris with squaredancing. Impressed by close compliance with the wire motif challenge and, the combination of symmetry, 3-D component, minimal color strategically placed, and the significant history of materials. An interesting work.
