Swimming by Sheila Ross

This piece, 'Swimming' is one of my first long-term works. It was slow to develop but I was thrilled when it it won the honors of 'Best of Show' at the Sonoma County Fair this year, thanks to the Redwood chapter of the National Embroiderer's Guild.  Included is machine and hand embroidery, beading, appliqué and ribbon.

It is a symbol of my resolution to finish many new projects in the New Year and to share them with others.  The 'Swimming' part reminds me of finding Nemo – "to …just keep swimming, swimming, swimming…"
