Swirls

The green fabric was scrunch dyed using procion dyes; then a subtle texture was applied using a darker green fabric paint and a texture rubbing plate.  The fabric that forms the sewn on swirls was made using the deconstructive method of screenprinting.  The texture was made with metal washers and procion dyes applied to the screen and let to dry.  Print paste was used to release the dyes onto the fabric.  The fabric was then cut on the bias and sewn to the green fabric in the swirl pattern.
