A rural/agriculture county that borders the Gulf of Mexico is where I live and work. My imagery comes from the world around me. A mild semi/tropical climate offers lush vegetation and waters that team with creatures.
This piece is actually a collage of woodcuts as are all the pieces in this body of work. My images are cut from 3/4" birch plywood, inked with oil based inks and run through a press. Many are layered images using a variety of techniques. Some of the plants are inked and printed as a form of collagraph. The image size is 12 x 23 1 1/2. Constructed on wood substrate the image wraps the sides, top and bottom. The entire piece is coated with beeswax
Below are 2 close ups: A printed dragon fly cut from wood and printed ferns cut from wood.
