Mixed Media Bird Houses

I will be holding a workshop to make these in Houston on June 22., 2013. Go here for further information: http://doorno2.blogspot.com/2013/05/drum-roll-please-i-would-like-to.html

Bird houses made using paper mache forms that have been layered in ephemera, maps and vintage sheet music. Once layered, the houses are painted with a thin wash and/or distressed using distressing inks and alcohol inks. The birds are made using the same and have rhinestones for their eyes. The wings are also made from embossed paper clay, silver leafed, aged and sealed for beautiful 3D effect! The roofs are made with paper clay that has been textured, glued down, silver leafed, aged and sealed.  Assorted charms have been hung on wire that has been secured with screws that have been glued in.  Glass stones are used for the feet.  Pieces measure 6 1/2 x 8 1/2.
