Mixed Media Map of Myself

The base is an 8” X 8” piece of Coventry Rag White Vellum paper.  I glued on a silhouette of my head composed of maps of the three states that influenced my life: Missouri, California and Washington.  Hair is composed of embossed silver and strips of cut and painted maps sewn on.  Eyes, nose and lips were cut from a photo, glued on and enhanced with oil pastels.  Glasses are cut from paint chip samples and glued on, lens is embossed.  The labyrinth represents life’s journey.  It was first embossed, then stitched.
