Potential Allegory of Happiness, Marnita Patton

This multi-couched paper includes cotton, linen, yarn, dryed leaves, and original metal work.  To create this relief and texture, I applied the darker pulp to formed styrofoam.  The yarn was then layed down and a second, lighter sheet of paper was applied over top.  Once dry, some of the yarn was then pulled through the top sheet for additional texture.  The antique gold pigment caught the embossed surface to create the stripped patern on the top form.  Accent pieces are from cut, drilled, and forged metal.

The artwork size framed is 21" x 23"
