I  made the cover for the book with Japanese paper painted and altered with pva and acrylic paint. The second layer of paint was Lumiere spray paint, it gave a beautiful sheen to the painted paper. I added crushed onion skins to the wet paper and silk thread waste.

The book was embellished with organza ribbon cut into squares, then stitched behind silk organza purple (squares) which I beaded by hand, the squares were sewn onto a burlap dyed ribbon and glued around the book covers fron and back. I like the luminosity of the paint , it reminds me of petrol spills that shine rainbow colors when the sun catches the light and reflects on the road.
