Reach

This piece is made of old repurposed items:

• the rough wooden box salvaged from an old button shop
• part of a broken picture frame
• an oatmeal container
• spring from an old clock
• woman's image from a 100 year old book

I also used some window screening, wooden dowels, cardboard, acrylic paints, glazes, india ink and vintage book pages.

The surfaces were painted with layers and layers of paint, ink and glazes. I drew the man in the moon on a page from an old book and then mounted it on a disk of wood. The sides of the box and part of the broken frame are visually linked because of the turquoise crackle finish on both.
