Swirl Tree Print

This piece began as a monoprint that I created by coating a piece of plexiglass with purple ink and using swirls that I punched out of paper as stencils. After I ran it through the press the first time with purple ink, I painted a clean piece of plexiglass with green ink in the shape of a tree and ran it through a second time. After it dried, I cut out the tree and mounted it to a collaged background. I added details to the tree with a white paint pen and collaged more swirls that I cut out of handpainted paper onto the tree. The background collage was made from various decorative tissue papers and Lumiere, Jacquard Textile and Golden acrylic paints on a Reeves canvas board.
