Te Amo

Te Amo:  Accordion Book made from Gatorade Lids.

I’ve been saving Gatorade lids – I don’t like to let things go to waste.  I used them as the covers of my accordion book.  I imagined a jewelry box with surprising contents.

Materials

–          2 Gatorades bottle lids

–          14 punched out circles that fit the lids

–          Scrap ribbon

–          Scrap fabric

–          Embellishments

–          Ribbon to connect the circles

Procedure

First, I glued 8 circles to make the accordion book.  I drew images that represented “Te Amo” (I love you).  I stamped the words “te amo” and tied a heart in the middle to separate the two words.

Second, I glued the lids to the beginning and the end of my book.  After they were firmly glued and the accordion fit inside of the lids I embellished them.  The remaining circles were used to cover any backs with exposed ribbons.  I covered the lids with fabric and decorated the edge of the lids with ribbon, leaving portion exposed.  Finally, I added a felt flower and leaf.
