My original canvases start with a photograph of a still life that I have shot. I assess the colors needed and hand paint tissue paper with acrylic paints using brushes, stamps, sponges and bubble wrap for texture. Then I cut up the tissue to use as my collage medium, using a soft brush and gel medium to apply to the canvas. I very rarely use additional paint in the final piece, except in case of something needing some softening, like on a peach. I like to keep it pure! The effect is crisp, clean and bright.
