Victorian inspired fabric photo album

My inspiration for my family photo album was the old fabric covered Victorian albums that would sit on top of a matching easel. This sewn fabric book houses many memories. Not only of family, but of precious materials saved over the years. The delicate pages combine fabric images with tulle, lace, velvet, trim, ribbon, tassels, pom poms, doll clothes, feedsacks, hankies, jewelry and snippets of wedding dresses and old christening gowns.  An old dictionary found at the flea market was the making of the covers for my album. The beautiful cover is an old velvet pillow top that I have cherished for years. The book measures 11×8 and is 3 1/2” in depth. I made a closure out of chain and a belt buckle. When not being viewed, the album sits on top a wood easel I made using wood pieces salvaged from an old, discarded porch swing.
