I love little journals and used to made handmade books years ago. Since I've been doing mixed media jewelry, I decided to combine my love of ICE Resin coated papers, art journals, color and metal smithing techniques into one little project. This journal is reversible — a day into evening — art piece. The back has the words WAKE UP punched into the metal square blank and is completed with a simple textured bronze ring. I am not a morning person, so this necklace is a bit of self-deprecation. It's finished with a simple cord of recycled silk sari with a handmade bail and clasp. I wanted to keep the pop of color as the focal for the cord.
