Windows

The concept behind this box was one of windows revealing a partial view of what was next, giving somewhat of a zooming-in/zooming-out feel as you viewed the book.  I used a stiff leaf structure in creating the book with 8 plates or pages counting the covers. Starting with the cover, the viewer is presented first with a window and a hint of line based on the figure on the following page. This how the book continues…a window…a figure drawing first shown in full view. The next plate is another window followed by a drawing of the same figure but in closer view…and so it goes to the end.

The book itself is 7.25 x 7.25 x 1.25 inches in sizes and rests in a box that is 7.75 x 7.75 x 2 inches in size. The box is covered using hand made paper while the book is constructed of heavy weight book board covered with mi-teintes paper. The drawings were done using pastel and pencil.
