woodblock print on linen with embroidered embellishments

I love the feeling of carving plywood.  I work with both beautiful shina plywoods from Japan, and plywood found in the neighbor's scrap pile. The original woodcut is done on scrap plywood.  I printed it both on paper and linen.  I loved the idea of adding the texture of the waves with stitching and the sail with applique.  Using a netting stitch I added the net.   The final piece is mounted on canvas for hanging.
