Almost Black and White

By Deborah A. Pierro – I found a board and used it for this piece. I covered it with gesso and later added a bunch of papers that I had stamped on; one paper that I created with a stencil and a black oil pastel crayon; another paper that I designed on the computer; a design that I drew and colored in with a black marker; a silhouette of a woman that I drew, cut out, and colored with a black Sharpie paint pen; and some masking tape embellishments. I brushed gesso on the masking tape and then, later, a little gold acrylic paint. Then I sealed the entire piece by brushing on Mod Podge. I invite you to visit my mixed media art blog at
