This is a painting of my late husband I did for my daughter. She had one done similarly of herself and wanted them to be displayed together. I textured the canvas with plaster before painting the background. I read about that idea a few months ago in Cloth, Paper, Scissors. I made a hard edge stencil on the computer from a photo we had taken and painted from that for his features. It is painted directly on on an 11×17 1" wrapped canvas. This was my second of three I did for my children. Each turned out very different. They were each a labor of love. It was interesting the emotions it stirred up in me as I worked on his features.
