Two of a series of three birds constructed to serve as window displays at a local non-profit, fair trade shop. Using an under-lament of recycled corrugated plastic to provide rigidity, they are primarily fashioned from craft felt. I designed them to slide onto recycled bamboo ladders. They each measure nearly 6 feet from beak tip to tail. What began as a two-week project took nearly six months to complete. (Sometimes the Muse is reluctant to reveal her inspiration!) Many thanks to my husband, Fritz, for his carpentry assistance and his patience with my process.
