Memories

This began as an oil painting on masonite of a yellow book and daisy, found at a Good Will store in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  A closed book needs a story and a foundation. I color-copied the book image and set it aside. Here a photo-copy of an old bible is applied with gel medium, as is the image of the pocket watch. The book image returns, placed over the book and watch. Gel medium, again.

I repeated the daisy image in the original oil painting with pieces of clip art and added two paper butterflies with a hint of red for brightness.  Then, I layered some of the elements:  the butterflies, daisies and watch are stacked to give the illusion of dimension.  What story could this image hold?
