An original pen and ink drawing was scanned into the computer then printed on to unbleached cotton.  The face area was painted with a thin layer of acrylic (No water, the print is sensitive to water).  Colored pencils were used to add shading and details. The face was finished with black sharpie and a white Pentel starburst gel pen.  The cotton square was sandwiched with a piece of felt to add lift and then machine stitched to a backing fabric. Strips of vintage lace were cut and sprayed with a mist of red water color. The strips were knotted and stitched around the face.  Red glass beads were then stitched to the lace to add more texture.  The phrase was written on scrap cardstock and spattered with watercolor paint, cut out and stitched with embroidery floss to the cotton square.  The square was then blanket stitched to a piece of burgundy felt.
