Out On A Limb: 29

This is part of an evolving and ongoing series in which I have been – most recently – pairing color images of birds with black & white ones. I use the original paper and the bird images here – from a Woolson Spice Co. trade card and a circa 1920s Audubon coloring book – are antiques. The pink flowers were clipped from an antique postcard published by PFB and printed in Germany. The layers separating the birds include hand-marbled paper and a page from a recycled glass catalog. The piece is edged with fluid chalk and was created on a 5"x5" cradled, hardwood panel whose sides are varnished.
