Southern Sightings

This is a mixed media piece on  12 X 24 wood panel.  Layered gesso, scrape book papers, painted, wiped off paint, more paint, wiped off paint, crumpled tissue from a dress pattern, crackled paint in blue. Crow was cut from irridescent patterned paper, applied with gel medium, painted over in black, and wiped in places to reveal pattern of paper.  Fence was painted in white, then wiped off.  Flower was cut from three pieces of scrapes, layered, painted, and detailed out with rubbed charcoal pencil lines.  All other details were traced in charcoal pencil and rubbed with my finger for a smudged effect.   The borders were painted black.   A final spray of water based polyurethane finishes the piece.
