Tattered fabric wall hanging 1at attempt

Hello, thanks for having a look at my photo.

I usually make rather lavish greeting cards. So this is my first attempt at tattered fabric Art which I have been wanting to try for quite a while.

I tend to go a bit OTT with embellishments, both bought and home-made ones on my cards, so making this was bliss, I could go as mad as I liked. I love fabrics anyway, and usually incorporate some on my cards where possible.

I was inspired by Ruth Rae and her book 'Layered, Tattered & Stitched' plus quite a few blogs.  I tea dyed alot of the fabrics and lace, used and vintage lace, fabrics, buttons and paper. There is a hidden message for my friend, to whom I am giving this for her birthday. I also sewed on small sentiments specifically for her…these are not in the photo. I was going to add acrylic paint somewhere, but ran out of space!  Wink

I would love to have some comments or suggestions as it's my first piece.

Thank you again

Janet
