As I prefer to create things that are not only eye catching but also useful, I've created this Dia de los Muertos "shrine". Made of papier mache, acrylic paints and outliner, Fimo clay, flowers from a lei, etc. this piece is not only 3 dimensional but purposeful. The skull is mounted to a 4×4 canvas…
My inspiration for this piece is from, 1 Corinthians 15:55, "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?". The elements are wool felt, Kraft-Tex, metal flashing (texturized with an embossing folder), cube letter beads for "teeth", buttons, beads and of course skeleton keys!
