Treasure Keepers

A Gift for Grandpa

In my Art piece I used a paper bag, card stock, circa picture 1940's, jute, weaved ribbon, cotton cloth ribbon, string, chiffon ribbon, yarn, acrylic paint, soft jersey recycle shirt, sparkles, tacky glue and a sharpie.  I used a hand single stitch, a double stitch and machine running stitch .

Indigo shibori dye base, hand embroidery, machine embroidery metallic threads, crochet, hand tinted cloth laminated (lumpy rock), resin (water on shell), beading.

Hand dyed cotton (Sharpie and alcohol) Hand made felt. Cotton embroidery threads, regular cotton. Machine and hand stitched. Wadding and heavy cotton backing.

Mixed-Media Stitch – Flowering Tree

This artwork was created in many layers and used many materials.  The background started out with a pair of old jeans, gesso, ripped pages from and old book and used tea bags.  White accents were added by printing a hand-carved stamp with gesso and drawing white leaves with Sakura Souffle pen over the tea bags.…
